It is getting bizarre. The Tamil films release schedule has gone totally awry. There are 9 days left in September and 9 more Tamilfilms to release by the end of the month!
On September 23, four films are due for release- Aayiram Vilakku, Aduthuaduthu, and two other small films which are hunting for theatres.
Adding to the miseries is small films with no stars who want a technical theatre release in Chennai city.
If they release and screen the film over the weekend, they can be shown on television the following week as “puthan puthiya padam”!
And on September 30 is the beginning of the long Navarathri weekend, which will see atleast five releases on September 29 or 30.
Sun Pictures Vedi is releasing on Sep 29, followed by UTV’s Muran on Sep 30. These are films with confirmed theatre bookings.
Joining the fray on the ‘Tatkal Waiting List’ are Ambuli, Vaigai Sooda Vaa, Ra Ra and Varnam. |
